Liverpool Set to Name Main Stand After Surprise Name

Liverpool chiefs are finalising plans to rename the Main Stand after perhaps a slightly surprising candidate: Divock Origi.

This bizarre news, which has been broken by lesser-known source AF, comes after owner John W. Henry felt that the Belgian striker needed to have more recognition following his Champions League heroics last season; merely a new contract wouldn’t suffice.

Henry personally felt that the “Main Stand” was too generic a name; it needed a makeover akin to the “Kenny Dalglish Stand” and the only man who could feasibly match King Kenny’s legacy and justify having a stand dedicated to them was Big Divock.

Every time supporters go and sit in the Divock Origi Stand, Henry hopes they will be reminded of his “corner taken quickly” and that last gasp winner against Spurs that clinched a sixth Champions League.

Despite the current coronavirus crisis, if things go to plan, the stand should be renamed ahead of the 2020/21 season, whenever this may be.

Discussions were also held about sticking a picture of Origi’s smiley face on each of the seats, but Henry’s wife, Linda Pizutti Henry, dismissed the idea as “too silly”.

However, there are rumours that the Origi Stand may not end up happening due to the reliability of the “AF” source, or as it is more commonly know, April Fools!
