Player Ratings: Norwich 0-1 Liverpool

Alisson – 8

Kept fairly quiet as usual thanks to a solid defence but vital when called upon yet again, made a match winning save when Norwich found themselves clean through.

Trent – 6.5

Wasn’t given much space to work with against a deep lying Norwich defence, did his job well but didn’t stand out.

Van Dijk – 7.5

Consistently solid, it’s easy to forget what an impact his presence has on the team’s overall stability, another day at the office.

Gomez – 7.5

Creating a water tight centre back partnership while further cementing his place ahead of Matip and Lovren. Yet another clean sheet with a mature, calm and dominant performance from the young defender.

Robertson – 6.5

Similar to Trent, didn’t stand out but did his job just fine in linkup play and defensive shape.

Henderson – 8.5

A very good all round performance and a match winning assist to cap it off, another routine committed shift from our captain.

Wijnaldum – 5

Started off reasonably lively but struggled to make any meaningful impact on the game before being substituted off. Not the usual quality from Gini, who is arguably our most complete midfielder on his day.

Keita – 7

His progressive passing and forward dribbling was highly impressive in the first half particularly, although his impact faded somewhat as the game went on. A mixed performance overall and one that divided fans on social media.

Salah – 7

Lively overall but not a notable performance. Linked up well but couldn’t find the decisive moment.

Firmino – 7.5

Flashes of brilliance and audacious skill, Firmino was having fun at times but missed his huge chance when it mattered. As usual, very important in the team’s linkup play between midfield and attack.

Oxlade-Chamberlain – 5

Struggled on the wing, pressed hard as usual but provided next to nothing in attack and was subsequently substituted. Definitely suited more to a central role.

Mané – 9 (Man of the match)

The match winner, changed the whole game when he came on and lifted those around him. An absolutely sublime goal at the key moment yet again for Liverpool.

Fabinho – 7

Improved the midfield’s passing range when he came on and provided a physical presence as usual. Inevitable to return to the starting lineup in the coming week.
