Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi is desperate for a transfer to the Premier League this summer, and would welcome a move to any of the “Top Six” sides, according to an exclusive report from 90Min this morning.
Having witnessed the success of compatriots Sergio Aguero and Carlos Tevez in England, Icardi is keen to showcase his own talents in the Premier League, especially having grown discontent with life at Inter.
Not only was the striker stripped off his captaincy role back in February, but played a reduced role for the remainder of the season; with new manager Antonio Conte at the helm, Icardi doesn’t seem likely to stick around.
Although his “Top Six” stance would seemingly put Liverpool in the equation to sign the 26-year-old, Manchester United and Manchester City are the two sides mentioned as having interest in acquiring Icardi, yet they have reservations.
Both sides are hesitant to move for Icardi due to the presence of his wife and agent Wanda Nara, whose outspoken personality seems to generate controversy, and has seen Icardi land himself in trouble previously.
Reportedly valued at €80m by the Serie A side, despite his eagerness to move to England, both Juventus and Napoli are growing increasingly interested in signing the Argentine.
With 121 goals in 219 appearances in Serie A during his 6 year stint at the San Siro, there is no doubt that Icardi is an unbelievably talented finisher. Yet, due to his questionable attitude and off-field antics, Liverpool are probably best to steer as far away from the striker as possible.
