Liverpool-linked Nabil Fekir is still set to leave Lyon this summer, with a new report from Le Parisien, via Get French Football News stating today that a number of agents have been mandated in an attempt to finalise a transfer.
Despite the fact that Fekir wants to leave the club this summer, and the Ligue 1 outfit also want to sell, no interest in signing the midfielder has been forthcoming, with Lyon now enlisting the help of agents to try and speed up a move away.
However, in a surprising twist, the article also states that if no offer arrives that satisfies both parties, Fekir could sign a new contract with Lyon to keep his long-term future at the club.
It was well documented how close Liverpool were to signing the World Cup winner in a £53m deal last summer, until concerns about the durability of his right knee prevented a deal from happening at the final hour.
Although Liverpool are yet to officially reignite their interest in Fekir, the opportunity to sign him at a bargain price may be too hard to resist and a reduced fee would surely balance out the injury risk significantly.
