Liverpool youngster Rafa Camacho wants a transfer to former club Sporting sped up so that he can avoid the possibility of returning to Melwood when Liverpool’s pre-season training resumes in a few weeks time, according to a report from A Bola today via Sport Witness.
Camacho is thought to be desperate for a return to Lisbon due to the “emotional bonds” he has with the club, and it is believed a deal is now very close to completion.
Although Liverpool initially requested €10m for the 19-year-old’s signature, Sporting were only willing to offer around half of that. The two clubs are now seemingly closer to an agreement.
In order to sanction the sale, it is thought Sporting had to agree to Liverpool’s demand of a buy-back clause, as well as a percentage of any future transfer.
The Portuguese starlet wants the deal completed as soon as possible, as he is keen to avoid the prospect of linking up with the rest of the Liverpool squad when pre-season resumes shortly.
Camacho, who is valued at £10m by Liverpool, is keen to leave Anfield after failing to impose himself on the first-team squad, with only 2 appearances last season. He was also thought to be discontent with being forced to play at right-back, as opposed to his preferred position of on the wing.
It now seems as if his dream to return to his homeland is virtually complete.
