Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman was forced off injured after suffering a knock to his troublesome ankle during his side’s 3-2 win against Augsburg.
Manager Niko Kovac feared the worst when speaking to Eurosport following the game claiming that “it does not look good, we’ll have to investigate it tomorrow to find out more.”
However, to Liverpool’s frustration, the French international has since been given the all clear to play at Anfield on Tuesday evening. Jurgen Klopp would have hoped to face Bayern Munich without the winger, given the injury problems that are currently facing the Reds’ defence.
Klopp will be hoping to get the last-16 off to a flying start and gain an early advantage in the two legged tie. Bayern’s scrappy win against Augsburg will provide encouragement to Liverpool’s front three, where they will be looking punish the German outfit on the counterattack.
