Liverpool are looking to boost their striking options by eyeing up a move for Red Bull Salzburg’s Munas Dabbur this month, according to a report from Spanish publication Estadio Deportivo yesterday afternoon.
Arguably one of the most in-forms striker in Europe right now, Dabbur is keen to embark on a fresh challenge and has made clear his intentions to leave Salzburg before the window ends, with Liverpool, Valencia and Fulham among others coveting his signature.
With Dominic Solanke completing a move to Bournemouth earlier this month, Klopp views Dabbur as a promising option to compete for a place up-top, especially with Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi flattering to deceive recently.
Currently valued at €15m by Transfermarkt, the Israeli international has been outstanding since joining the Red Bill Arena, scoring 29 goals last season to help Salzburg win the league title, while he was integral in his side’s surprising achievement of reaching the Europa League Demi-final.
Having already netted 20 goals this campaign, Dabbur seems to have outgrown the Austrian Bundesliga and you can understand his desire to seek a new challenge.
Wherever he ends up, it will be interesting to see if he can carry his form to one of Europe’s top leagues and he could mark a wise investment if Klopp decides to bring him to Anfield.
