Rumours over a move to bring RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner to Anfield have intensified in recent weeks, although a new report from The Express this morning states that a move is now unlikely as Werner is concerned about a lack of playing time.
According to the article, Werner has already turned down the chance to move to Bayern Munich this month over concerns about his role in the team.
He is believed to currently be reluctant over a move to Merseyside for similar reasons — with Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino mainstays in the starting lineup, they are unlikely to be displaced.
The situation could change in the summer, especially with Werner admitting he’d be keen on a transfer away from Leipzig should the opportunity arise.
With rumours that Werner could be available for a cut price of around £36m in the summer, it’d be surprising if Klopp isn’t interested in a move for the German, who has been in fine form this season thus far with 13 goals.
