Juventus preserved their unbeaten run in Serie A by beating Lazio 2-1 yesterday, although it could have been a completely different story earlier in the match, with one man in particular culpable — Emre Can.

The former Liverpool midfielder put in an abject display for the Old Lady, failing to make a single interception or key pass, while he picked up a booking in the first half. This nightmare showing was capped off by a terrible own goal at the 60th minute mark, where he headed the ball into his own net from a corner.

Although Juventus did ultimately manage to pick up all three points and maintain their unbeaten run, Liverpool fans were quick to highlight Can’s display on Twitter and suggested it wasn’t the wisest of decisions to move to Turin:

Can has really struggled since joining Juventus this summer after he let his contract run down at Liverpool, failing to find consistency and often losing his place to the emerging Rodrigo Bentancur.

Although many Liverpool fans were disappointed to lose the 25-year-old, especially for nothing, I doubt many are now lamenting his loss; most have probably forgotten all about him.

Only time will tell if Can’s fortunes at Juventus will change but considering Liverpool’s progress this season, there is a high probability he regrets departing Anfield.
