A bid from an unnamed English side for Trabzonspor midfielder and reported Liverpool target Abdulkadir Omur has been confirmed by their president Ahmet Agaoglu, according to a tweet from Futbol Arena this afternoon.
“A Premier League bid for Abdulkadir came”, stated Agaoglu.
“Abdulkadir and Yusuf [Yazici] will be our ambassadors.
“So I make a mistake if I send them to an ordinary team abroad
“For example, a team 8th or 10th in La Liga as a team”.
Speculation regarding a move to Anfield for Omur has intensified in recent days, with many sources saying that a £27m bid was close to completion to bring the midfielder to Merseyside and beat off competition from Manchester City and Barcelona.
Klopp is apparently a long-term admirer of the 19-year-old and views him as the potential successor to Adam Lallana, who has attracted interest from Fenerbahce and former club Southampton.
Trabzonspor are thought to be desperate to retain Omur’s services until the end of the season, although having described Liverpool as “a very important club”, along with a “dream of playing in Europe”, it appears as if Omur is keen to move on sooner rather than later.
