In a strange turn of events, on-loan Liverpool midfielder Ovie Ejaria has deleted his Twitter account, while unfollowing Rangers on Instagram, amid rumours that he is set to cut short his season-long loan from the Gers and return to Anfield in January.

The 21-year-old has failed to travel with the Rangers squad for their crucial Europa League clash with Rapid Vienna this evening, thus sparking rumours that he is set to depart Ibrox in the upcoming weeks.

Although Ejaria still follows Rangers manager Steven Gerrard on Instagram, along with team mates Ryan Kent, Umar Sadiq and Glenn Middleton, his dramatic unfollowing of the official club account will only further rumours of an exit.

It doesn’t seem as if Rangers fans will miss the Englishman if he departs too much either.

Although Ejaria started brightly when he first left for Scotland and was described as ‘magnificent’ by Gerrard following a Europa League strike against FC Ufa, he has since lost form and has a disappointing record of only 2 goals in 27 appearances.

However, he only signed a new-long term deal with Liverpool back in June and is highly regarded by Klopp so maybe he still has a future at Anfield should he return.
