With Virgil Van Dijk, Dejan Lovren and Joel Matip remaining as Klopp’s only options at centre-back over what is set to be a highly intense period of fixtures, Tobido is seen as a smart investment that can help bolster Liverpool’s defensive depth.

The 18-year-old has attracted a profound amount of attention around Europe for his displays for Toulouse this season, with Manchester United and Juventus also known to be keen on acquiring his services.

Tobido has made 10 appearances for Toulouse in Ligue 1 this season and having already scored a goal for the club, is starting to make his name heard around Europe.

Also able to operate at the base of midfield, Tobido’s game awareness and overall intelligence on the pitch bellies his years and he could certainly provide a useful additional option for Klopp, while hopefully being a fixture of Liverpool’s backline for the next decade.
