Liverpool are reportedly desperate to resign former Anfield man Suso from AC Milan when the transfer window opens in a couple of weeks, according to a report from Liga Financial last night.
Suso, who departed Liverpool to join Milan in a £1m deal back in 2015, has been in fine form for the Rossoneri this season and Klopp is keen on acquiring his services in order to boost his forward line for the second half of the campaign.
The Spaniard, who has previously admitted he “would like to play for Liverpool again someday”, is also wanted by Atletico Madrid and Chelsea, with Milan thought to be after about £40m to sanction his sale.
Having become one of the leading figures at the San Siro though, with 4 goals and 8 assists in the league thus far, the 25-year-old is thought to be in no hurry to leave Italy — at least not until the end of the season.
Suso spent a rather unsuccessful four and a half years on Merseyside after arriving as a teenager back in 2010, making only 21 first-team appearances. However, having departed Anfield before Jurgen Klopp’s arrival at the helm, Suso may be excited at the prospect of proving his worth at Liverpool under a different coach.
Also able to operate as an attacking midfielder, Suso is a winger in a different ilk to the likes of Salah and Mane — more renowned for his vision and passing ability than blistering pace.
There would definitely be some merit to see him return to Liverpool in January and would certainly offer an alternative option for Klopp in a bid to claim a first Premier League title.
