Liverpool have apparently opened talks with Inter Milan to sign winger Keita Balde when the transfer opens in January, according to a report from The Wistle on Tuesday.
Klopp is eyeing competition in attack in order to boost Liverpool’s hopes in the title race and views Balde as the ideal signing, with the club confident an agreement can be made.
Balde initially struggled after his season long loan from Monaco in the summer, but has now found his feet at the San Siro, with 3 goals and 2 assists in his last 4 Serie A outings.
Although Inter have the option to buy the 23-year-old for around £30m upon the expiry of his loan in the summer, it is believed that a deal could be struck to terminate the loan and bring the winger to Anfield in January, barring Liverpool pay more than the £30m.
With Klopp very keen on acquiring Balde’s services, it is thought that he is unfazed at the prospect of having to pay a premium to bring him to Liverpool, although the circumstances of it being a loan deal is certain to make any deal complicated.
A prolific winger with an abundance of pace, Balde would seemingly be a shrewd signing that could be sure to provide competition to both Mane and Salah in the title race.
