Liverpool Fan Sticks to Outrageous Promise After Late Winner in Derby


When Twitter user @ForeverRed98 tweeted that he’d get a ‘Divock’ tattoo if the striker scored when he came on in Sunday’s Merseyside Derby, he probably didn’t think there was an element of risk involved. Having not scored for the Reds since May 2017 and not even making a league appearance since the first game of last season, to say the likelihood of him scoring with 10 minutes on the pitch was slim would probably be a huge understatement.

However, that’s exactly what he did.

Taking advantage of Jordan Pickford’s misjudgement to head the ball into an empty net, Origi scored a 96th minute to send Anfield into a frenzy and to hopefully resurge his floundering Liverpool career; amidst the joy, I’m sure @ForeverRed98 was regretting his decision.


A man of his word though (and probably under pressure after close to 9,000 likes), he’s gone through with his promise and showed off the finished article today on Twitter:


He has to be commended for actually getting the tattoo; it’s fair to say it’s a fitting tribute to Origi as well and I’m sure will help the fan never forget what could be a defining moment come the end of the season.
