Liverpool Echo journalist James Pearce has confirmed that Sporting Lisbon are keen on making a loan approach for Liverpool youngster Rafa Camacho this January, according to an article from the outlet the other day.
Camacho, who has also attracted interest from a host of Chanpionship clubs, could leave for the second half of the season, with Sporting already informing Liverpool of their interest in the player who was formerly in their youth ranks.
The 18-year-old has failed to feature for the Reds thus far this season, although has made the bench on three occasions — including the 3-1 victory over Manchester United a few weeks ago.
Klopp is understood to have been impressed by the Portuguese U20 international during the preseason tour of the United States, where he mainly featured at right-back.
Able to play at full-back, in midfield or on the wing, Klopp is thought to be an admirer of Camacho’s versatility and having had to put him in match day squads already this season, may be unwilling to sanction a move.
Irrespective of whether he spends a spell away in his home land or not, Camacho is thought to have a bright future at Anfield.
