Jurgen Klopp finally got the better of Manchester United in the Premier League with a 3-1 win this evening at Anfield ensuring the Reds returned to the top of the table.
Liverpool were highly impressive in the opening exchanges and one man in particular (once again) stood out to fans on Twitter: Fabinho.
The Brazilian put in yet another outstanding performance, breaking up the play, while providing the energy and guile in midfield that was required in a game like this. His assist for Mane’s goal also earned plenty of plaudits, with a delightful ball over the top catching Bailly off-guard and allowing Mane to slot it under David De Gea.
Forget allegiances to any players in the squad. If you don’t see what Fabinho brings you don’t understand football

Fabinho has been sick today so far

Although it wasn’t the easiest starts to life on Merseyside for Fabinho, he proved today exactly why he was the missing piece of the puzzle for Liverpool in midfield — him, Wijnaldum and Keita already has the makings of a balanced, effective midfield.
It’s almost as if Klopp was right to integrate him slowly rather than throwing him straight in — funny eh?
