Liverpool’s hopes of reaching the knockout stages of the Champions League suffered a big blow after falling to another away defeat against Napoli this evening, putting the Reds in third position and an exit into the Europa League looking inevitable.

However, all is not lost for Liverpool and a place in the last-16 can still be ensured providing they either beat Napoli 1-0 or by two clear goals when they visit Anfield in two weeks time.

Topping Group C is still even a possibility if PSG lose or draw when they travel to Belgrade and the Reds manage to beat Napoli by the relevant scoreline.

Anything other than a win would mean Klopp’s side would exit the competition and based on Redstar’s result, would either head into the last-32 of the Europa League or finish bottom and crash out of Europe entirely.
