"Fabinho Dreams of PSG Move" — Fabinho's Future at Liverpool in Doubt

In the wake of L’Equipe’s news that PSG intend to make a move for Fabinho in January, well esteemed Twitter account Get French Football News have stated that the Liverpool man “dreams” of a move to Paris and would have moved in the summer if the opportunity presented itself.

The Ligue 1 Champions have retained a longstanding interest in Fabinho’s services and they were reportedly the midfielder’s first choice in the summer, although bad relations between PSG and former club Monaco over the sale of Kylian Mbappe scuppered any chance of a deal.

The strong Brazilian cohort at PSG was apparently the primary reason Fabinho was set on a move to Paris, with the likes of Neymar and Dani Alves already key figures at the Parc des Princes and with the 25-year-old not having had the easiest starts to life on Merseyside since his £44m move, PSG are once again ready to pounce.

However, Jurgen Klopp has denied reports that Fabinho could be set to leave in the near future, stating “it’s a crazy world out there” [with regards to players possibly leaving] and that “he’s adjusting to what we want him to do”.

Although Fabinho struggled for minutes in the early part of the season, having featured regularly in the last month, as well as putting in top-class displays against Red Star and Cardiff, it seems as if he’s acclimatising to the demands of Klopp’s system and a move away would be nonsensical.

It would be very surprising to see him leave in January — either on a permanent or temporary basis and instead look for him to play a key role going forward this campaign.
