Gerrard came to the defence of ex-Red Jordan Rossiter by answering his question about player beings brought in to replace those underperforming, which you can view in the clip above.
Our former captain displayed the cut-throat mentality he is already developing in the hot-seat by stating “if these players don’t step up, it’s simple at a big club: the manager goes and finds better quality”.
It provided an interesting insight into the cool, blunt approach the ex-England captain is taking as Rangers boss and had Liverpool fans salivating about the prospect of Gerrard one day sitting in the dugout at Anfield.
Although results have dipped slightly as of late, Gerrard has got off to a fine start in his first managerial position, sitting three points off 2nd in the Scottish Premiership.
However, it is in Europe where he has really attracted attention, with Rangers sitting top of a difficult Europa League group — testament to the job Gerrard has done in Glasgow and the potential he has to eventually become a top-class manager.
