As we all saw this morning, Tottenham Hotspur’s Lucas Moura was named Premier League Player Of The Month.
The accolade was awarded after the Brazilian provided viewers with a stunning performance as Spurs thrashed Manchester United 3-0 at Old Trafford, scoring twice.
The Wide-man was named after scoring 3 goals in 3 games for Spurs, who currently place 5th in the Premier League.
However, some fans took to Twitter to vent their confusion as to why Lucas Moura was given the award over Sadio Mane.
Love Lucas, but in all honesty would’ve given it to Mane. Hate saying that. But 4 goals for a team with 12/12 points, just seems like no argument. Maybe because of Moura’s brace v ManU? https://t.co/sGOF9c6XsN

Mane has helped Liverpool retain 12 points out of a possible 12 so far this season, and has carried on his exceptional form from last season, where the Senegalese scored 20 goals in 44 appearances in all competitions as a winger, which is a very impressive return.
Mane is a massive fan favourite, an exceptional talent and a very down to earth person, as footage emerged of him helping to clean his local mosque earlier this month.
We just feel like Mane was more deserving of the award considering both his and Liverpool’s unbeaten form whilst Spurs have picked up 9 points out of a possible 12 following their defeat to Watford last weekend. A brace away at Old Trafford appears to have been the deciding factor.
Hopefully Mane can replicate his form and come out firing as usual when Liverpool meet Tottenham Hotspur on the 15th of September.
