Serbian international Marko Grujic is facing a spell on the sidelines after suffering an ankle ligament injury whilst playing for Hertha Berlin this weekend.
The 22-year-old was on the wrong end of a poor challenge during Hertha Berlin’s 4-2 victory against Borussia Mönchengladbach and is expected to be out of action for several months.
The midfielder had made a bright start to his loan spell and was making his fourth appearance for the German side, who along with Bayern Munich, are the only unbeaten teams in the Bundesliga.
Grujic’s injury will be a tough blow to take and Hertha Berlin general manager Michael Preetz said:
“Marko has managed to make a significant difference to our game in the short time he has been with us, which is why the loss for him personally and for us is very, very bitter.
“Now we will look after him and help him, so that he can play that role as soon as possible.”
