Highly rated Nice youngster, Allan Saint-Maximin, has caught the eye of Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.
According to French publication France Football, the player’s agent Stephane Courbis, has claimed that both Liverpool and West Ham were interested in signing the youngster during the recently closed summer transfer window.
Saint-Maximin started his football career at Saint-Etienne Academy before joining AS Monaco in 2015. Last season the youngster joined OGC Nice on a permanent transfer and went on to make 36 appearances for the club in all competitions.
The 21-year-old winger contributed 5 goals and 8 assists in his debut season with Nice. Saint-Maximin has featured for the French national team at all junior levels and most recently made his U21 debut in a friendly in September 2017.
The young winger can play across the frontline and has also featured on both wings and in midfield for Nice last season.
However, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp ultimately decided to sign Swiss star Xherdan Shaqiri over Saint-Maximin last summer but reports are that the Reds’ boss is still keen on the highly rated youngster. A future move to Anfield may still be on the cards for the French star.
