After news emerged on Saturday night that the deal for Lyon’s Nabil Fekir may potentially be off, we asked fellow reds who they would like the alternative transfer targets to be.
1. Sergej Milinkovic-Savic
Milinkovic-Savic has risen to prominence this season for Serie A side Lazio, alongside former red Lucas Leiva. The 23 year old Serbian international has contributed 12 goals and 3 assists in 35 matches to help guide Lazio to a 5th place finish.
But Milinkovic-Savic has stated in a recent interview that he will not be deciding where his future lies until after the World Cup is finished,
“I will decide where to continue my career after the World Cup. There’s a very good atmosphere among the squad and it feels like I’ve been here for years. I can’t wait to start the tournament.”
Reports suggest that Lazio have set an asking price of £88.7 million in order to obtain the midfielders signature, with Manchester United, Manchester City & Real Madrid all allegedly interested in the player.
2. Paulo Dybala
Paulo Dybala had yet another impressive season for Serie A champions Juventus, contributing 22 goals and 5 assists in 33 games in the league.
Dybala has the ability to play as a number 10, a centre forward or even as a right winger, he certainly possesses the attributes Jurgen Klopp is looking for in a player both as a creator and a goalscorer.
Juventus only signed Dybala, now 23 in 2015 for a fee of £23 million from Palermo, and it is suggested that Juventus would only consider selling the dynamic forward for a fee upwards of £100 million. Manchester United, Real Madrid & Barcelona are all interested in signing the Argentinian.
3. Thomas Lemar

During the summer transfer window of 2017, Liverpool had a bid of £64.4 million + Origi rejected for 22 year old Thomas Lemar. The French international had a great campaign which led to Jurgen Klopp wanting the youngster at Liverpool to replace the departing Phillipe Coutinho.
Lemar burst on to the world stage alongside many of his teammates last season as Monaco beat PSG to the French league title.
Lemar has still had a positive contribution this season, scoring 2 goals and assisting 8 in 30 appearances. Though it was his displays last year that truly interested top clubs, with 9 goals and 10 assists in 34 appearances last season.
Lemar predominantly plays as a left winger, but can also play as a right winger and as a central attacking midfielder.
With Arsenal, Chelsea and Barcelona also interested in the young Frenchman, it is reported that a fee of around £90 million would be needed for Monaco to sell the player who is under contract until 2020.

Spanish attacker Isco hasn’t had it easy at Real Madrid. The 26-year old hasn’t been best pleased with his playing time – starting 21 games and coming on as a substitute 9 times.
Isco has scored 7 goals and also contributed 7 assists in those 3o appearances for Real Madrid this season, helping them to a 3rd place finish in La Liga.
Isco is best deployed as a central attacking midfielder, but can also play on the left and right wings, and obtaining his signature would certainly allow Jurgen Klopp to bolster his creativity in midfield.
Isco signed a new contract in 2017, with a reported release clause of €700 million, keeping him at the club until 2022.
5. Ousmane Dembele

Reports have recently emerged that Liverpool were exploring the opportunity of signing Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele on loan for the upcoming season.
The 21 year old is the 4th most expensive signing in history, costing Barcelona €105 million from Borussia Dortmund last summer.
The French international has scored 3 goals and assisted 7 in 17 games in La Liga this season, having missed the first 4 months of the season due to a hamstring injury.
Although his preferred position is on the right wing, Dembele can also play on the left wing as he is exceptional with both feet.
Dembele has reportedly struggled to settle at Barcelona, and therefore want him to gain some regular playing time to get back to the standard they expected when they paid such a huge fee for him. Arsenal are also said to be interested, and it will be an important summer for the winger to find his rhythm again.
