Karim Benzema doesn’t believe his goal in the Champions League final was down to luck after Loris Karius’ mistake.
The Frenchman was able to take advantage of an error made by Karius, granting them a one-nil lead at the time.
“No, I don’t think it was luck. I don’t believe in luck, it’s always hard work,” the 30-year old said.
“You have to be in the right place at the right time.”
“It may have been an easy goal to score, but you have to be in there to score it.”
On Monday, it was revealed that Loris Karius had sustained a concussion during the Champions League final.
In a statement by Dr. Ross Zafonte and Lenore Herget at Massachussets General Hospital, they had concluded that Karius did in fact suffer concussion.
“After carefully reviewing game film and integrating a detailed history – including his reported present and immediate post-contact subjective symptons – physical examination and objective metrics, we have concluded that Mr. Karius sustained a concussion during the match My 26, 2018.”
Amongst the reaction to the Karius news, The Mirror ridiculously stated that Liverpool fans have “demanded a rematch”.
On behalf of practically all Liverpool fans, WE DO NOT WANT A REMATCH!
