Sergio Ramos has warned Liverpool that it is in Real Madrid’s DNA to win the Champions League.
“We know it’s in Real Madrid’s DNA to win the Champions League. We know as a team how to play finals, and we will be ready,” Ramos said.
“We can’t be arrogant but we can be confident.”
However, the Spanish centre-back did admit that he is surprised by the form of Liverpool this season, insisting the Reds deserve to be in the final.
“With all respect, maybe at the start of the campaign Liverpool were not the team people thought would be in the final. But they are here because they deserve to be here.”
Ramos went on to hail the impact of Mohamed Salah for Liverpool this season, but claimed that he doesn’t fear him.
“We have seen what Salah can do this season, but he will just be one of eleven Liverpool players we will be facing.”
“Throughout my career, I’ve faced some of the best strikers, and many of them are considered among the greatest ever. For me, there’s never fear. Respect, yes, but never fear.”
Sergio Ramos and his Real Madrid teammates will take on Liverpool in the Champions League final in Kiev on May 26th.
