Liverpool are weighing up a move for Bayern Leverkusen’s Julian Brandt this summer, according to an exclusive by Calcio Insider.
Anfield Edition revealed that Julian Brandt had signed a new contract extension at Bayern Leverksuen back in January.
However, Calcio Insider say that a source close to Leverkusen has revealed that the new contract extension was just a tactic to remove the ‘cheap release clause’.
Liverpool were heavily linked with a move for the 22-year old German last summer, before settling on Mohamed Salah.
The Reds’ have been told Brandt is available for £52.5million this summer, making him a cheaper alternative to Dembele and Pulisic.
The Leverkusen man has been in good form this season, scoring 12 goals and assisting on 3 occasions for the Bundesliga club.
Also, according to the Metro, Liverpool have registered an interest in Brandt’s teammate Leon Bailey.
However, Liverpool are joined by Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal in the race for the Jamaican born winger.
Liverpool officials have been told that Leon Bailey would cost upwards of £100million this summer, making any deal difficult.
