Every transfer window, there comes a bidding war and interest from various clubs for certain players.
From seasons past, players such as Mohamed Salah, Willian, Cristiano Ronaldo and Virgil Van Dijk have all been in demand and attracted a lot of interest from football clubs all over Europe. This transfer window, Jorginho is the latest player who is highly sought after.
Clubs from Spain, France and England are all chasing the signature of the Italian. However, it looks likely that Jorginho may be moving to England this summer.
The midfielder’s agent, Joao Santos has confirmed that negotiations with respective clubs have begun. Santos stated,
“I’m in Brazil, nobody called me from Naples, but they called me the English teams, Liverpool, Manchester City but also Arsenal and Chelsea.”
This season Jorginho has further developed his game under current Napoli manager Maurizio Sarri. However, rumours indicate that Sarri may leave Napoli this season and Santos added,
“It depends on Naples and the sports director Giuntoli. Sure it is not difficult to find agreements with teams of this type,”
“I do not know if a possible goodbye of Sarri would accelerate the goodbye of Jorginho, if for Naples it will be positive to capitalize on the offers, then we will talk, I do not know if the future of Jorginho depends on the permanence or otherwise of Sarri.”
Many fans and pundits have been calling for manager Jurgen Klopp to sign a number 6 for Liverpool for the past two seasons.
It looks like those calls have been heard and Liverpool are after a defensive midfielder for next season and the deep-lying playmaker may just be the answer to the Reds’ midfield for the 2018/2019 season.
