Liverpool will make a bid for Borussia Dortmund’s Christian Pulisic this summer, according to Bild. The Reds’ first bid will be near the €60m mark.
Reds manager Jurgen Klopp, is a big admirer of the American, who began his Dortmund career under the guidance of Klopp and will try once again to sign the midfielder this summer.
Liverpool had failed to bring Pulisic to Anfield back in 2016 when they had a £11 million bid rejected by Dortmund.
However, Dortmund chief Michael Zorc has claimed that he “knows nothing” about the Reds move for the midfielder.
“I am in constant exchange with Jurgen Klopp, but I am not aware of this” when asked about speculation linking Pulisic to Liverpool.
The American international will be highly sought after this summer. Manchester United are keeping tabs on the midfielder. Bayern Munich are also another club that is actively trying to sign the midfielder.
Hailed as an “American Superstar”, Pulisic has scored 11 goals and provided a further 20 assists in 94 competitive matches for Dortmund.
Pulisic is into the final two years of his contract at Dortmund and the club will be hoping he agrees terms on an extension to ward off interest.
This summer may be an ideal time for Klopp and Liverpool to make another attempt to sign Pulisic. With the Reds in the Champions League final against Real Madrid, many players around Europe are taking notice of Liverpool.
