Liverpool are close to agreeing a deal for Norwich midfielder James Maddison, Anfield Edition understands.
When asked about his future, James Maddison exclusively revealed to a source close to Anfield Edition that he expects to be a Liverpool player next season.
More specifically, Maddison told us that he expects to be alongside one of his best friends, Trent Alexander-Arnold.
The young English midfielder has been close friends with Alexander-Arnold since an early age. The pair share a room together when on England U-21’s duty.
The Liverpool full-back is said to be one of the major pulling factors in any deal concluding for Maddison.
While Alexander-Arnold is working his charms, Maddison has done his bit in impressing Jurgen Klopp in the Championship this season.
The 21-year old midfielder has managed 15 goals and 8 assists in 47 appearances for the Canaries in all competitions this season.
His stunning displays this season earned him a nomination for EA Sports player of the season, but he was pipped at the post by Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon.

The Fulham youngster has attracted interest from the likes of Manchester United and Tottenham, but Liverpool appear to be front runners for his signature.
The Championships player of the season has endured a stunning campaign with Fulham this season, scoring 15 goals and assisting 5 times in 47 appearances.
However, his stats are all the more impressive considering he has spent the majority of his time this season at Left-back, before operating as a winger towards the end of the season.
