Liverpool will battle Valencia to the signing of Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic, according to Corriere dello Sport.
Inter Milan are prepared to sanction the sale of 25-year old Marcelo Brozovic to help compliment other targets in their sights – including Daniel Sturridge.
Brozovic has made 14 appearances for Milan this season, with 7 of them coming from the bench. The attacking midfielder has contributed to 5 goals this season, scoring 4 and assisting 1 in all competitions.
The Croatian International is seen as a potential replacement for Philippe Coutinho – who joined Barcelona this month for £142m.
Liverpool plan to stay on good terms with Inter Milan who have been in contact with the Reds about a potential loan deal for Daniel Sturridge. Liverpool believe a good relationship could increase the chances of completing any deal for Brozovic.
The Italian side are believed to value Brozovic at €32m. Jürgen Klopp is keen to bolster his midfield in January with Brozovic being an option.
Ben Woodburn was set to join Sunderland on loan in January with the Welsh teenager already agreeing personal terms with Chris Coleman’s side. However, Jurgen Klopp won’t sanction the loan of Woodburn unless he can recruit before the January window closes. Brozovic could be the key to any loan.
