Anfield Edition understands that Huddersfield are very keen to bring in Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic on loan until the end of the season.
Despite Huddersfield’s interest in the player, the Serbian international has attracted plenty of interest elsewhere, including a number of clubs in the Championship.
However, Huddersfield are firm favourites for his signature and understandably so because of David Wagner’s relationship with Jürgen Klopp.
Marko Grujic has seen his game time limited at Liverpool with first team opportunities lacking.
Grujic’s agent Stojadinovic has said:
Stojadinovic: “Grujic has to go somewhere in January in a loan, in the team where he will play. It must be an English club, so he does not to make a mistake like Lazar Markovic did.”
The former Red Star Belgrade midfielder has played 19 minutes of first team action so far this season – all from substitute appearances.
David Wagner said this about Marko Grujic in his press conference today:
David Wagner: “I don’t like speaking about individual players, but when there’s an interesting player available on loan from Liverpool, then we will want to sign him on loan or permanently.”
Jürgen Klopp is an admirer of Grujic and thinks a loan move would be beneficial for the player. Klopp is not interested in making any move permanent and regards the player as a future Liverpool star.
