Sadio Mané has officially been ruled out for the season.
Klopp confirmed this saying,
“I am pretty sure Sadio will need surgery but I am not 100% sure when it will happen, but then it is clear ‘season over’.
As Liverpool supporters all know, the side has been less than successful without the Senegalese winger. Liverpool have failed to win a single game when Mané is not in the squad. This trend continued as Liverpool dropped points to Bournemouth in a 2-2 draw in their midweek match at Anfield.
On top of Mané being officially ruled out for the season, Liverpool are likely to be without Philippe Coutinho during their trip to the bet365 Stadium. The in-form Brazilian was subbed off at halftime of Wednesday’s 2-2 draw after feeling sick.
“Phil is still ill. He was not at Melwood yesterday and he will not be here today.”
Klopp went on to say.
“He will be really close.”
Coutinho did not travel to Stoke with the squad but will be given every opportunity to make the match if at all possible.
“All the injuries don’t make life easier. But as long as we have eleven….all managers would stay the same. It’s about who can play.”
Liverpool face 12th place Stoke City tomorrow at the bet365 Stadium. Stoke are currently on a three game losing streak and Liverpool will be hoping to extend that. Can the squad win their first match without Mané?
