Last week Klopp hinted that Henderson might return to training soon, today he confirmed that the midfielder may be out for the rest of the season. Klopp said he was unsure if Henderson could return for any of Liverpool’s last five Premier League games.
When asked if Jordan could miss the rest of the season Klopp said,
“I don’t know, we will see.”
“In this moment he cannot really train so we have to wait for that moment. That’s been that plan since the beginning. Of course we are in intense talks to different departments, the medical department of course.”
Liverpool’s captain has not played since the Reds 2-0 home win against Tottenham on February 11. Since then, he has gone on to miss eight Premier League matches and could miss up to five more in the current campaign.
The English midfielder was spotted on crutches this afternoon and it is rumoured that he cannot apply any pressure to his injured foot.
Liverpool have five games remaining in their Premier League campaign and currently sit third in the table.
