Adam Lallana is confident of being available for Monday’s trip to Watford. The midfielder posted a video on Instagram showing him arriving at Melwood for a training session with the caption, “T minus 6 days and counting: Watford on my mind.”
“Maybe Adam is coming back for the next game…We have now five or six days to train before Watford, we will use it, it will not be easy but possible. It’s enough.” Klopp said in his post-Palace press conference.
The creative midfielder hasn’t featured for Liverpool since their 1-1 draw with Manchester City on March 19.
“[Adam] would help us in different situations, it’s good.” Klopp went on to say.
There is now a growing concern that Jordan Henderson will be ruled out for Liverpool’s final 4 matches after being put on crutches by the club’s medical department. Henderson was told to take weight off his injured foot in an attempt to speed up the recovery process. The captain has now missed 43 games in the last two years through injury.
As Liverpool’s midfield options grow thin another midfielder has been ruled out for the remainder of the season. Kevin Stewart underwent surgery to repair a hernia and won’t be available for selection for the rest of the season. Although the 23-year-old hasn’t featured since January’s FA Cup match against Plymouth he has been a mainstay in the U23’s setup. It is rumoured that the midfielder is set to leave in search of regular first-team football after just four starts and five substitute appearances this season.
Meanwhile Daniel Sturridge has made an unexpected return to training despite pulling out of last game with a recurring hip injury. Perhaps his Liverpool career will see a few last appearances after all.
Liverpool travel to Vicarage Road to play 10th place Watford on Monday. The squad will be hoping to bounce back after an abysmal 1-2 home loss against Crystal Palace.
