Jordan Henderson did not travel with the squad to the King Power Stadium due to a foot injury. It was first feared that the captain had sustained a broken foot but that has proved to be false.
The midfielder was hurt during training on Friday when he collided with a team-mate. He was sent for a scan to address concerns of a broken bone. Luckily, the scan showed no fracture and only heavy bruising.
Although it is much better than a fractured metatarsal, Henderson was ruled out and is a major doubt for Saturday’s home game against fourth place Arsenal. The Reds beat the London-based side 3-4 at the Emirates in the beginning of the season.
