In the summer of 2016 Liverpool loaned out their 24 year old full back Jon Flanagan in a bid to give the young player game time in his recovery from a serious knee injury which had ruled him out for a whole year.
However mid-way through the season Burnley boss Sean Dyche has suggested that he is assessing the situation of Flanagan with the scouser’s noticeable lack of game time and a recent injury to give him yet another setback. Flanagan has started just 3 times for Burnley whilst wracking up a measly 314 minutes and being used as a substitute only twice so far.
Flanagan picked up yet another knee injury during the festive fixtures for Burnley however the problem turned out only to be minor – but a setback at a frustrating time nevertheless.
It remains to be seen whether Flanagan will have a Liverpool future at all under Klopp but the player may be returning sooner than expected…
