Firmino's release clause revealed

Roberto Firmino is reported by the latest Football Leaks to have a 98 million Euro (equivalent to 83 million Pounds) release clause in his current contract.

Interestingly, and almost comically, there is a section in the clause that specifically prohibits Arsenal from triggering it.

Here’s the image in question:

Was owner John W. Henry angrier than we first thought after Arsenal’s notorious £40,000,001 bid for Luis Suarez in 2013?

Firmino currently has 5 goals in 13 outings this season and is arguably our most important player in terms of the style of play. If any club wants our Brazilian forward, they will need to pay more than Barcelona paid Liverpool for Suarez.

Any club other than Arsenal, that is.

This comes as an unexpected report for Liverpool fans, however not one that will spark any discomfort.
