Ahead of Liverpool hosting Watford this Sunday, the Reds have been handed an injury boost.
James Milner, who missed the victory over Crystal Palace through illness, has made a full recovery and is now in contention to return to the starting lineup this weekend.
His deputy, Alberto Moreno, put in a pretty solid performance in the Englishman’s absence and even secured an assist, but it is thought that Milner will return to the left back position when we face The Hornets.
James Pearce has said:
“James Milner looks set to return to the Liverpool side for Sunday’s Premier League clash with Watford at Anfield.
“Milner was desperate to feature at Selhurst Park but club medical staff decided it was best that he didn’t travel.”
Klopp appeared content with Moreno’s showing against Palace, saying:
“There was never a doubt about Alberto.
“He is a young player and needs to learn a lot of things. Sometimes he’s a little bit too passionate in defending. But he is still young and can learn things.
“You see he is quick, has a good left foot, a good attitude and runs up and down. It’s nice for a manager to work with boys like this.”
Although providing a good stand in performance, it looks as though the Spaniard will drop back to the bench in favour of Milner, who has expertly adjusted to the demands of playing left back this season, showing great form before his untimely virus.
Elsewhere, youngster Sheyi Ojo is back in light training for the club after a stress fracture in his back saw him sidelined during our tour of America. He had expected to be back in September, but had a setback along the road to recovery. He posted “Back running, the return is near” on his Instagram page.
