It appeared that Lucas was prepared to move on, but has Klopp blocked the deal? – Indigo Pearce reports
Reports coming from Turkey suggest that Lucas Leiva’s move to Galatasaray has collapsed, following the deal being blocked by manager Jurgen Klopp.
An agent working on behalf of the Turkish club to negotiate the deal said
“If it was up to Lucas he would have made the transfer”
“Klopp was behind the transfer hitting the rocks, he wants Lucas to stay and the player had to listen”
It remains to be seen what role Lucas will play at the club, but it’s hard to imagine the player as anything more than a backup defensive midfield and utility centre back option, as seen at the back end of last season.
