Liverpool 3-0 Manchester City: Player Ratings

A phenomenal display from the reds in a 3-0 mauling of the Mancs.

Simon Mignolet: Had little to do in the match, thanks to superb defending from the back 4, kept his 4th clean sheet in 5 matches too. 6

Jon Flanagan: Welcomed Sterling back to Anfield in fine fashion less than a minute in, made a brilliant interception later on in the half, he looked solid and calm. 8

Kolo Toure: Organized the back line well, and he made an exceptional tackle on Aguero in the second half, solid performance from the former Arsenal and City man. 8

Dejan Lovren: Almost every Liverpool supporter has changed their opinion on the big Croat, he looked solid at the back, calm on the ball, looks like a proper quality centre half. 8

Nathaniel Clyne: A decent match for the Englishman while playing out of position, was beaten by Navas early when Aguero missed a tap in, however he looked solid as the game went on. 7

Emre Can: Showed the talent he possesses, looked good on the ball, showed a good range of passing, and controlled the midfield, brilliant display from the German international. 8

Jordan Henderson: The skipper looked much better than he has in recent weeks, never stopped working, and had an important influence on the match, lets hope he stays like this! 8

James Milner: Brilliant performance against his old side, gave 110% throughout the match, was rewarded with an assist, and a brilliant goal, he could’ve had another if it wasn’t for an excellent stop from Joe Hart. 9.5

Roberto Firmino: Our number 11 has established himself as a fan favourite, always looked to threaten City’s defence, got himself another goal, and yet another assist bringing his season tally to 7 goals and 8 assists. 9

Adam Lallana: The best player on the pitch today, beat Joe Hart from 25 yards out, and put a lovely ball in to Firmino for the 3rd. Put in a proper shift both ways, and got a deserved sending off from the Anfield faithful. 10

Divock Origi: The young Belgian seems to have established himself as the Merseysiders’ second choice striker, his pace and movement always troubled the City back line, looks like a big prospect for the future. 8

Christian Benteke: Gave City’s defence problems at times with his size and strength, didn’t have much of an influence on the match however. 6

Joe Allen: Nearly beat Hart with a potential goal of the season, however it wasn’t to be, didn’t have enough time to make a real impact. 6

Jordon Ibe: n/a
